I've been pretty enchanted since I first saw a picture of this Castle years ago, and I finally decided to visit it during 3 nights camping in Rothiemurchus. I spent a fine 2 hours sitting on a rock a bit out into the Loch, watching the light change The Castle on Loch an Eilein “Loch of the Island” was first built somewhere around 1222 - 1298 by the Bishop of Moray, and developed over the years since then. It was a stronghold of the Wolf of Badenoch around the 15th century, and once had a causeway leading to the gate, now lost due to the water level being raised in the 18th century.
Hi there. I would like to congratulate you for the wonderful image you have here! There are a few things that could be changed to make it even better, IMO.
I don't know if you were initially trying to have the moon in the composition, but despite the fact that it looks nice, it's really so far away and lacks so much contrast that it doesn't do that much for the shot as a whole.
I think the location is wonderful, but you could have lowered the camera a bit more, which would make you lose the moon, but you would have captured the whole reflection of that structure in the water (lake?).
Other than those dew details, I must say again, congratulations for such a wonderful shot, my friend!
