Description

A Summer sunset below the hill fort of Auchterhouse Hill in the Sidlaws. I took about 200 photos here as the mist came and went, but I must admit I've not been through them properly :P I came across this one quite soon and just went with it!

I was up here today and all the snow has finally melted =D It's far from anything verdant but Spring is definitely in the air, can't wait to shoot it in summer again!

This photograph is gorgeous. I love the color contrast you get despite the relatively flat lighting. The exposure is flawless and the shot beautifully conveys what must have been a stunning scene. Fantastic work.

The one thing that might be changed is the framing with respect to the horizon line. In the one hand, its high placement in the frame draws the eye to the ferns in the foreground. On the other hand, the ferns' bright color and central placement could be seen as distracting. It makes things seem a tad busy, and I might frame the shot a bit higher.

I'm sorry if this critique isn't very good. It's the first I've ever written!
